The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Group

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in influence within the city.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.

This warrior group consists of Teor (played by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd close behind.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Seekers and Strategists parties.

Audiences can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
